Food Sharing: Say no to foodwaste!
The non-profit platform Foodsharing has set itself the goal of ending the industrial disposal of food whose best-before date has passed. Foods over the expiration date are not necessarily spoiled and can sometimes be consumed weeks after the official expiration date.
The food savers in the individual cities and regions network and coordinate their activities over the online platform. The initiative was launched in Berlin in 2012. Since then it has grown into an international movement with over 200,000 registered users Germany, Austria, Switzerland and other European countries.
