Also known as Patty, grew up in a beach town in Mexico and graduated as a veterinarian from National Autonomous University of Mexico in 2016. She pursued advanced studies in honey bee medicine and used her training to provide environmental education and services to rural villages. She took a master degree in rural development and natural resources, where she used bee hotels as environmental educational tools. Patty is interested in small animals medicine, honey bees management and native bees conservation. At the moment she works as a Veterinarian in Canada and is a member of the Smart Bee Hotel for Native Bees project’s team.
The Intelligent Native Bee Shelter is an open design project that, through the use of easily accessible technologies, allows us to study wildlife, generating open data for greater research and citizen science.
The project is about an intelligent native bee shelter that helps research and investigation, promotes citizen science, education, and conservation. Right now it is a growing project due to the lack of tools to study native bees, but hopefully, the project will continue growing to conserve this species that is so important to us humans.
